Boo Boo's and Swimming

This past week has been a big week in the Martin household. My last day of work was Tuesday - HOORAY!!!! Lucy and I have been going on walks together(thank goodness she loves being outside). Today's walk was with Aunt Andy and Cash. They miss her SO much.

Last weekend was in the 100's and Lucy was able to test out the swimming pool that the Easter bunny brought her. At first she was really not to sure of it but as I sat my over sized booty down she must have thought "well I guess it's not that bad." I had to sit Indian style in order to fit and lets just say, Indian style in a bathing suit is not flattering at all!!! Oh well no one was home. Lucy loved jumping up and down and then leaning over the side of the pool and watching the water drain out. I'm sure we'll have many more HOT days for Lucy to play in her pool.

. . . .

Later that afternoon Grandma Joyce brought Lucy a Jeep Walker since she's unstoppable at crawling. Lucy didn't really get the concept was she suppose to do but trust me - now she has and the dogs hate it! All 3 dogs can be peacefully sleeping and here comes this crazy lady driver crashing into them. The other day I fed the dogs and our of nowhere here comes Lucy to park in front of the food dishes. I had to drag her away and push her into the living room. After testing her new ride she was sitting with Grandma and as always was trying to remove everything off the end table. Grandma was busy talking and Lucy lost her balance, hitting her head on the table. Lucy has a nice bruise going straight across her left cheek. After playing all day and getting dirty she looks like a true tomboy with her bruise.

Pulling herself up on everything and would much rather stand than sit or even crawl. . . . . . . . Can you see the line on my cheek?

Milestone Weekend

Well besides Sunday being Lucy's first Easter she also set another milestone. Saturday she got the hand of crawling forward. Saturday morning Lucy and I were getting ready for the day and she was on my bedroom floor playing with toys and Ginger when all of a sudden the knee's moved forward in sync with the hands. She looked up and smiled at me like - I could have done this all along, buy why? I was SO happy for her finally no more scooting backwards.

Lucy and I visited the Ruiz family. Lisa had a another little girl on March 19th - Paige Addison Rose Ruiz. Olivia, the new big sister just loved Lucy and kept giving her kisses it was the cutest thing ever.

Later we had a baby shower for a family member having twins. Lucy was a little freaked at first by all the aunts holding her, pinching her thighs and cheeks and just talking to her. Every once in awhile Lucy would scan the room looking for mom just making sure I had not left her. I will say she slept great that night and did not wake till 10:00 am Sunday morning.
. . . .

Easter was like Christmas in our house this year!! Between Grandma's, Aunt's and me Lucy did not know what to do with all the presents. One by one she realized that she could do no wrong in pulling items out of her baskets.
. . . .

Later we spent the day with Grants family. Once again Lucy was handed around like a doll. She was no too sure about her great uncles at first but eventually they were no big deal and she enjoyed the attention. Now anyone who knows me - knows that Lucy will never be in a girly Easter dress so when I found her this outfit it seemed very fitting for the special day. And, a very special friend by the name of Gracie bought Lucy her adorable hat. The one trait Lucy has of her Aunt Holly's is the desire to accessorize. As mentioned before Lucy loves her sunglasses but we also found out she loves hats! Easter was a great day creating very memories with family and I could not have asked for a better day.

Family Visits

Last Saturday Lucy and I had the pleasure of meeting Grant's second cousin Angie and her husband Brady. Angie and Brady flew in from Wisconsin before boarding their cruise ship for 7 days. The best thing about out of town family is you dine at a nicer than usual restaurant; we went to the Old Town Mexican Cafe. Angie and Brady were a great to visit with and only hope as I recommended to Brady stay longer so we can do some sight seeing.
