A Bloody Boo-Boo

Lucy tasted her own blood for the first time last Sunday. She was playing with her daddy while he was getting ready for the day and mom was in the shower. All of a sudden mom heard loud crying and saw daddy walking out of the room with Lucy in his arms. Mom finally finished her shower and there was daddy holding Lucy on his lap. Lucy has a teething ring in her mouth, mom's first thought "great there goes those new teeth", but no she hit her forehead on the corner of the night stand. Apparently she cried until the blood running down her face landed in her mouth, then she was done crying. It was a bloody mess and good thing daddy hung in there (he HATES blood!) Lucy was a little off the remainder of the day but she was tough.

All About Lucy - as usual

Things have been crazy in the Martin household as always. Looking for a house is very trying on one's patience. Especially when your making a helpful investment!

For fun, I know play with Lucy's hair when she allows. She really does not like me doing her hair all that much ( I think that's the tomboy in her). But every once in a while I can sneak a clip or bow in. And thankfully it is getting long enough to do something with. Here is one shot of her being goofy.

Deere finally allows Lucy to touch her with out growling! Not bad, it only took a year.

Lucy's first Labor Day Soccer Tournament. Little does Lucy know but Labor Day will symbolize soccer tournaments like they do to mom. Every Labor Day weekend mom was playing a tournament. Grandma Joyce, Lucy and I went to cheer on a local club team that is coached by my high school soccer coach. I have not seen Robert in almost 2 years(since I quit coaching with him). It was great, we caught up with him for a while after the game.

And then we had Cash's 1st Birthday!!!! We had SO much fun. Lucy went in the jumper with her cousin Aubree (who just adores Lucy), then Lucy ate dad's entire cupcake by herself and helped Cash open his presents. The tricycle was the biggest hit for the 2 of them. Lucy liked a few of his books but in the end they both wanted to cruise around the park. I could not be happier that Lucy has a cousin to grow up with. They are such good little friends already.

Birthday Recovered

This past weekend was an absolute whirl wind of events. Lucy's birthday was on Thursday, so being the proud momma that I am I made Lucy her first pancake breakfast. I don't know why she has not pancakes yet but now I remember the first time she did.
Grandma Joyce came over and helped us finish the yard work that needed to be done before Lucy's party on Saturday. As you can see Grandma had a helper. And of course without failure that afternoon I came down with a cold. Good thing I made cupcakes earlier that morning when I was feeling good. We went to Grandma and Grandpa's for birthday dinner, presents and cupcakes of course. I must say that Lucy was very clean about eating her cupcake. She was just as dirty as when she eats a normal meal, I was a little disappointed:(
Saturday was a the Big Shebang for Lucy. We had family and friends over to celebrate for an indoor/outdoor party. Unfortunately it turned into an indoor party as it was only 110 degree's outside. The jumper for the kids was a sauna but they still had fun. All was good and we had a great time visiting with those we made it to. Sorry to anyone that I was not able to visit with.
Lucy has a great family and some of the best friends who love her more than any words can describe.

Let the party begin...

Lucy was just messy enough she had to have a wardrobe change.

I think she has just about recuperated from her party and is ready for cousin Cash's big shin dig. She is ready to dance with the band and jump in the pirate ship!!!
